​WHAT TO DO IF YOU SUSPECT FRAUD

If you suspect you're a victim of credit or debit card fraud, it's important to act quickly to help protect yourself. Contact us right away and we'll get promptly to work to reverse the fraudulent charges, stop more from occurring, and get a new card to you as soon as possible. We're here to help you every step of the way.

If you see a charge you don't recognize, or you suspect your credit or debit card has been compromised, call us immediately.

Our fraud detection specialists will:

  • Ask you a few questions to verify whether fraud has occurred.
  • Reverse the fraudulent charges once they've posted to your account (which may take 2-3 business days).
  • Help you secure temporary funds if you have bills to pay and can't wait for the charges to be removed.
  • Cancel your card to prevent any further fraudulent transactions.
  • Rush you a new card, sent by expedited shipping in 2 business days (at no charge to you).

A claims specialist may contact you if any further information is needed.

If we suspect fraud, we may temporarily suspend your credit or debit card.

Our comprehensive fraud detection service monitors transaction activity 24 hours a day, seven days a week, looking for patterns that may indicate fraud (such as your card being used in another state). If we suspect fraudulent activity on your card, we may temporarily suspend it until a fraud detection specialist can reach you.

Our fraud detection specialists will:

  • Contact you by phone and leave a voicemail message if you cannot be reached. Please call us back as soon as possible at (800) 462-8328, ext. 4037.
  • Ask you a few questions to verify whether fraud has occurred.
  • Immediately unblock your card if we are able to confirm the charges are legitimate; or
  • Reverse the fraudulent charges once they've posted to your account (which may take 2-3 business days).
  • Help you secure temporary funds if you have bills to pay and can't wait for the charges to be removed.
  • Cancel your card to prevent any further fraudulent transactions.
  • Rush you a new card, sent by expedited shipping in 2 business days (at no charge to you).

What steps can you take to help protect yourself?

  • Sign up for fraud alerts to receive immediate notifications of suspicious activity.
  • Enroll in MasterCard's free Identity Theft Protection, and register your debit and credit cards.
  • Tell us before you travel or use your credit or debit card away from home. You can set up Travel Alerts in Online Banking and Mobile Banking (under Card Services).
  • If your credit or debit card is ever lost or stolen, you can immediately report it (or cancel it) in Log in to Online Banking.
