92nd Annual Meeting of the Membership

The 2026 Annual Meeting of the Membership will be held in person at our Tustin office with an option to attend virtually. Our Tustin office is located at 15332 Newport Ave., Tustin, CA 92780. An RSVP is required to attend.

A representative will return your call at the earliest opportunity. Please note, RSVPs must be received by close of business on Monday, May 11, 2026.

The 2026 Annual Meeting of the Membership will include highlights of the past year and insights for the year ahead. The Nominating Committee has nominated five Members to fill five vacancies on the Board of Directors. Additional nominations for the Board of Directors may be made by petition in the manner set forth below. If no nominations by petition are received, a ballot election will not be necessary.

Nominations from the floor at the Meeting on May 19, 2026, will not be entertained unless unforeseen events prior to the election result in an insufficient number of candidates for the vacancies. Election results will be announced at the Meeting. No other formal business will be presented at the Meeting.

Elections

The Nominating Committee nominated Andy Plumley; Kristine Wetzel; Marie B. Smith, Ed.D.; Richard G. De Nava; and Tami Pearson, Ed.D. to fill three-year terms following the end of their current terms, which expire in 2026.

Nominations by Petition

Nominations may also be made by petition. Any Member who is at least 18 years of age and in good standing with the Credit Union is permitted to be a nominee. The petition must contain the name, signature, address and last two digits of the Member number of at least 500 eligible and valid Members. Additionally, nominations must be accompanied by a brief statement of qualifications, biographical data, and a signed statement from the nominee that they are agreeable and will serve if elected. Each petition must be limited to one nominee and signatures from Members should be affixed to a petition on or after Oct. 1 in the year preceding the Annual Meeting. The petition must be received by the Nominating Committee at SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union, P.O. Box 11547, Santa Ana, CA 92711-1547, no later than 5 p.m. PST on Feb. 5, 2026. Petition forms for the 2026 Meeting are available upon request from the Office of the Chief Executive Officer.

 

2026 BOARD OF DIRECTORS NOMINEES

 

Andy Plumley, Director, CCUB

Mr. Plumley began his credit union volunteer service at Service Plus Credit Union in Riverside. There, he served on the Education Committee, the Supervisory Committee and the Board of Directors. Service Plus Credit Union merged with SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union in 2009 where Mr. Plumley began his service on the Inland Empire Advisory Council and, in 2012, joined the Board of Directors. He holds a Certified Credit Union Board Member (CCUB) designation from America's Credit Unions, a trade association for state and federally chartered credit unions. He also holds a Cyber Risk & Strategy certification from the Diligent Institute. Mr. Plumley served the educational community since 1982, and in 2020, he retired from the University of California (UC) as an associate vice chancellor. He continues to be active in the UC system, serving on various retiree associations.

Kristine Wetzel, Director, CCUB

Mrs. Wetzel began her volunteer service at SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union in 1996. She is a founding Member of the President's Forum and is a current director. She holds a Certified Credit Union Board Member (CCUB) designation from America's Credit Unions, a trade association for state and federally chartered credit unions. Mrs. Wetzel serves the educational community as a high school teacher. Mrs. Wetzel holds a bachelor's degree in English.

Marie B. Smith, Ed.D., Director, CCUB

Dr. Smith joined the SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union Board of Directors in January 2020 as part of the merger with Schools Financial Credit Union. Prior to that, she served on the Schools Financial Board of Directors since August 2008. She holds a Certified Credit Union Board Member (CCUB) designation from America’s Credit Unions, a trade association for state and federally chartered credit unions. Dr. Smith holds a bachelor's degree, a graduate degree and a Doctor of Education degree in higher education management. She served the educational community as college president and vice chancellor.

Richard G. De Nava, Director, CCUB

Mr. De Nava has been serving as a volunteer at SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union since 2014. He served on the Inland Empire Advisory Council, Finance Committee and as an associate director. In 2021, Mr. De Nava joined the Board of Directors. He holds a Certified Credit Union Board Member (CCUB) designation from America's Credit Unions, a trade association for state and federally chartered credit unions. Mr. De Nava has been serving the educational community since 2003. He attained his Bachelor of Science degree in systems engineering and Master of Business Administration.

Tami Pearson, Ed.D., Director, CCUB

Dr. Pearson has been serving as a volunteer at SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union since 2015. She served on the Orange County/Los Angeles Advisory Council, Member Relations Committee, Risk Committee and the SchoolsFirst Insurance Services, LLC Board of Managers. Dr. Pearson joined the Board of Directors as an associate director in 2021 and became a director in 2022. Dr. Pearson holds a Certified Credit Union Board Member (CCUB) designation from America's Credit Unions, a trade association for state and federally chartered credit unions. She also holds a Cyber Risk & Strategy certification from the Diligent Institute. Dr. Pearson has over 30 years of experience working in education ranging from the K-12 setting to her current role as the associate vice president, school of continuing education at a community college. She earned a Doctorate in Education, a Master of Arts in educational administration, a Master of Science in criminology, a Bachelor of Arts in behavioral science and has both a California teaching credential and administrative credential.
