SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union Expands Partnership with Cal State Long Beach College of Education
June 16, 2026
SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union is expanding its longstanding partnership with California State University, Long Beach, through a $500,000 gift over five years to the College of Education.
The investment will support the annual Educators Summit, student-led programming and physical improvements to the Student Engagement Center, all sponsored by SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union. University leaders recently joined SchoolsFirst FCU representatives at a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the center's renovation.
"It’s in our foundational DNA to serve school employees and their families by helping them achieve financial well-being," said Josh Smith, vice president of school and community relations at SchoolsFirst FCU. "Our partnership with Cal State Long Beach’s College of Education helps us support future educators whose work will create a lasting impact on students and communities across California."
The Educators Summit is an annual summer conference that brings together experts, students, alumni and practicing educators to collaborate on teaching strategies. The SchoolsFirst FCU gift will expand attendance capacity. The renovated Student Engagement Center provides students with more space to connect and collaborate, while expanded student-led events create additional opportunities to build community across the college.
