HOW TO USE YOUR PREAPPROVAL

Your auto loan preapproval is the first step toward a convenient car buying experience. For the easiest way to use your preapproval, visit a CUDL dealer or use an Auto Convenience Check at a franchised dealer1 of your choice.

CUDL Dealers

A network of more than 500 Credit Union Direct Lending (CUDL) affiliated dealerships where you can get SchoolsFirst FCU financing immediately on-site.

How it works

  • Find a dealer.
  • Visit the dealer and let them know you're preapproved.
  • The dealer will send your signed loan documents to us.

Things you should know

  • The dealer will still ask you to submit an application.2
  • We'll mail you a letter with your payment amount and due date once we process your loan.

Auto Convenience Check

A convenient way to fund your loan by simply writing a check to the franchise dealer, up to your approved loan amount.3

Things you should know

  • Can only be used at franchised dealers.2
  • Not valid at CUDL or non-franchised independent dealers.4

Disclosures

SchoolsFirst FCU is not affiliated with any CUDL dealers.

  1. Franchised auto dealers sell new and used cars for specific auto manufacturers such as Toyota, Ford, Honda and other major brands — the manufacturer’s name is often listed in the dealership’s name (examples: Smith Toyota, Springfield Ford).
  2. With your consent, the dealer may pull your credit to comply with the USA PATRIOT Act. This pull may negatively impact your credit score.
  3. Restrictions apply.
  4. Non-franchised auto dealers are not affiliated with a specific auto manufacturer and usually don’t have a manufacturer’s name in the dealership name (examples: “Universal Car Sales,” “A-1 Auto Sales”).
