90TH ANNUAL MEETING OF THE MEMBERSHIP

May 21, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. PST

The 2024 Annual Meeting of the Membership will be held in person, in Tustin, CA, with an option to attend virtually.

The 2024 Annual Meeting of the Membership will include highlights of the past year and insights for the year ahead. The Nominating Committee has nominated four Members to fill four vacancies on the Board of Directors. Additional nominations for the Board of Directors may be made by petition in the manner set forth below. If no nominations by petition are received, a ballot election will not be necessary.

Nominations from the floor at the Meeting on May 21, 2024, will not be entertained unless unforeseen events prior to the election result in an insufficient number of candidates for the vacancies. Election results will be announced at the Meeting. No other formal business will be presented at the Meeting.

Elections

The Nominating Committee nominated Eric Padget, Marc Ecker, Ph.D., Matthew Schulenberg, and Renee Hendrick to fill three-year terms following the end of their current terms, which expire in 2024.

Nominations by Petition

Nominations may also be made by petition. Any Member who is at least 18 years of age and in good standing with the Credit Union is permitted to be a nominee. The petition must contain the name, signature, address and last 2-digits of the Member number of at least 500 eligible and valid Members. Additionally, nominations must be accompanied by a brief statement of qualifications, biographical data, and a signed statement from the nominee that they are agreeable and will serve if elected. Each petition must be limited to one nominee and signatures from Members should be affixed to a petition on or after October 1 in the year preceding the Annual Meeting. The petition must be received by the Nominating Committee at SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union, P.O. Box 11547, Santa Ana, CA 92711-1547, or delivered to the Office of the Chief Executive Officer no later than 5 p.m. on Feb. 6, 2024. Petition forms for the 2024 Meeting are available upon request from the Office of the Chief Executive Officer.

2024 Board of Directors Nominees

Eric Padget, Director, CCUB

Mr. Padget has been a volunteer at SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union since 2006. He served on the President's Forum, Finance and Risk Committees, SchoolsFirst Insurance Services, LLC Board of Managers and joined the Board of Directors in 2019. Mr. Padget holds a Certified Credit Union Board Member (CCUB) designation from Credit Union National Association (CUNA), a trade association for state and federally chartered credit unions. Mr. Padget retired in 2023, following more than 33 years of service in the K-12 setting. He earned his Master of Science in educational leadership, a Bachelor of Arts in urban planning and has both California teaching and administrative credentials. Additionally, he has completed the Masters in Governance program through the California School Boards Association (CSBA).

Marc Ecker, Ph.D., Director, CCUB

Since 2000, Dr. Ecker has served as a volunteer at SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union. His service includes the President's Forum, Member Relations Committee, Orange County Teachers Service Organization, Inc. (OCTSO) Board and Finance Committee. He joined the Board of Directors in 2006. Dr. Ecker holds a Certified Credit Union Board Member (CCUB) designation from Credit Union National Association (CUNA), a trade association for state and federally chartered credit unions. He served the educational community for more than 18 years as a school superintendent. He now serves as a full-time faculty member in the College of Education at a university.

Matthew Schulenberg, Director, CCUB

Mr. Schulenberg has been a volunteer for SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union since 2007. He joined the Credit Union Board of Directors in 2016. He previously served as a Member of the Board of Managers for SchoolsFirst Insurance Services, LLC and the Inland Empire Advisory Council. He holds a Certified Credit Union Board Member (CCUB) designation from Credit Union National Association (CUNA), a trade association for state and federally chartered credit unions. Mr. Schulenberg has served the educational community for over 25 years as a mathematics teacher and as a school-site and district-level administrator. He is currently serving as an assistant superintendent, administrative services for a school district. He holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics, a master's degree in educational administration, and is a certified Chief Business Official by the California Association of School Business Officials (CASBO).

Renee Hendrick, Director

Mrs. Hendrick has been a volunteer with SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union since 2006. She joined the Board of Directors in 2015. Prior to that, she served on the President's Forum, Education Foundation Board, Finance Committee, and the SchoolsFirst Insurance Services, LLC Board of Managers. Mrs. Hendrick has more than 25 years of educational experience where she is currently deputy superintendent, operations, governance and community partnerships for the county. She is certified as a Chief Business Official by the California Association of School Business Officials (CASBO).
